TUCSON, Ariz. (March 29, 2024) – Tucson ER & Hospital is proud to announce a partnership with EMS Unlimited, to enhance the preparedness of medical professionals during wildfire season. EMS Unlimited hosted a four-day training class from March 4-7 at Tucson ER & Hospital, located at 4575 E Broadway Blvd.

The Wildland Class provided 12 fire line medical EMTs and paramedics with the proper protocols to provide emergency care to firefighters during wildfire season. The four-day event was dedicated to training the emergency response teams on care during wildland firefighting, specific clinical skills, operational tasks like map reading, and the proper communication procedure. Additionally, the Medical Director at Tucson ER & Hospital, Sean Murphy, MD, FAAEM, hosted an hour-long course on austere pain management and burn injuries.

Tucson ER & Hospital is committed to excellence in medical care through preparation. As wildfires become an increasingly prevalent threat, affecting communities and posing unique challenges to first responders, this partnership aims to equip medical professionals with the specialized skills and knowledge to respond effectively during wildfire incidents.

“Partnering with the Tucson ER & Hospital team has not only been a great way for us to serve the entire state of Arizona in preparation for wildfire season’s arrival, but also helped us quickly respond to our mission of serving wildland firefighters with a multitude of medical services,” said Ebin Latrimurti, President and Paramedic at EMS Unlimited.
